Please note that these vaccinations are not being provided at your normal GP Surgery.
Please attend the address given when you booked your appointment.
You will be invited in due course if you have not yet received your invitation. Please do not attend if you have not got an appointment as you will not be permitted access to the building.
PLEASE DO NOT ATTEND YOUR APPOINTMENT IF YOU HAVE ANY COVID SYMPTOMS ON THE DAY, OR FEEL ACUTLEY UNWELL OR HAVE A HIGH TEMPERATURE. Please contact the surgery and we will rearrange your appointment.
Preparation will begin before you leave your house - by ensuring that you wear appropriate clothes. The injection will be given in your upper left arm (unless there is an exceptional reason why we can't).
Please ensure that when you dress you choose something loose fitting around your arm such as a tee-shirt or a short sleeve blouse. Having patients needing to partially undress to reveal their upper arm slows things down considerably - so please avoid long sleeve shirts or jumpers.
Please also do not forget that you will need to be wearing a face covering when you enter our building - so make sure you bring one with you.
Please arrive as close to your appointment time as possible. You will be checked in on arrival - and patients will only be allowed to access the building 5 minutes before their appointment time. If possible please attended you appointment alone. There will be volunteers available to assist patients with mobility issues. If you normally use a wheelchair or mobility scooter please use that as normal.
There will be a one way system through the clinic. If you are being dropped off by a family member they may wish to park to the rear of the building to collect you.
Before receiving your vaccination you will be asked a few simple questions:
· Confirm your identity -
· Are you well today - this may lead to other questions.
· Have you ever had a Covid vaccine before?
· If you carry an Epi Pen, or have ever had a sever anaphylaxis reaction.
· Have you ever had reactions to any vaccines previously?
Assuming that the Clinician is happy with all your responses you will then be vaccinated in your upper left arm by another member of staff.
After being Vaccinated
After you have received your vaccination you will be required to remain on site in the vaccination centre for 15 minutes before you leave. We do have sufficient seating for patients to wait.
Once the 15 minute wait period has expired you will be able to leave by the exit to the rear of the building.
